Qwiic Hub
The Qwiic Hub allows you to expand a single Qwiic port into four, along with an additional set of pads for using non-Qwiic I2C devices with your Qwiic-based project, alongside M2.5 mounting options, convenient underside soldering pads and an onboard power LED!
All ports on the Qwiic Hub are connected to each other (just like a USB hub), however we designed the board with a single port on one side as the obvious microcontroller 'out', leaving the other four ports for Qwiic sensors and devices (see the product images for an example). Another handy way to use this hub is to solder the included 4-pin header to the board and use it as a breadboard adapter for Qwiic devices - handy!
I2C and Qwiic devices use four lines for power and communication - GND, 3.3V, SDA and SCL. The pads on the board connect these lines to the Qwiic connectors (also seen on our Qwiic Breakout), allowing you to connect non-Qwiic devices to the hub.
There's a little blue power LED for some visual power/connectivity feedback, but if you’re not into that blinky life, you can cut the highlighted trace to disable it.
We also used M2.5 mounting holes as they're a popular size with easy-to-source fixings...because who in their right mind would choose fiddly M2 fixing?!
Key Features
🤏 Compact Qwiic Hub with five Qwiic connectors (1 in, 4 out)
📌 Qwiic pins broken out to pads for interfacing with non-Qwiic devices
💡 Onboard LED for visual power/connection status (makes it pretty too!)
🔪 Cuttable trace to disable LED because some makers like to work in the dark
↩️ Underside solder pads for easy wire soldering and re-work on the pads
🔩 M2.5 mounting holes for fiddly-free mounting
🪙 ENIG (Gold) PCB plating for oxidation resistance and durability
💸 4-pin 2.54mm male header strip included!
Board Layout
Note: All Qwiic ports are connected - input/output is simply our suggested use:
